about
As winter was turning to spring in 2013, Rick called me one day and said we should record a lathe cut song for Willimantic Record Store's one year anniversary. I went home and wrote and recorded this jingle on my 488. At one point, I was stumbling for lyrics to one of the verses and I called Rick back and we figured out the lines together on the phone. Later that day, he came over and dropped bass on the track. Then we took it to our studio head John Miller in Shelton, CT to have it mastered. Lathe cuts were done by Mike Dixon/PIAPTIK. Do yourself a favor and visit Willimantic Records. Joe is an amazing curator of records, a great musician himself, and has an incredible depth of knowledge about underground music. He has done so much for the music community in the northeast that we decided to give something back. But don't follow the directions given in the song because the shop has moved to: Bliss Marketplace, 34 North St, Willimantic, CT 06226. ---Dan Greene, April, 2022

Willimantic Record Store
Going for a Sunday drive
with just a few friends of mine
we're all still crushed from last night
but we got some records to buy.
Yeah we're going to Willimantic Record Store
You take 6 East to Main Street
you take a right where the train tracks meet
next to the run-down factory
where the bridge cuts through the trees.
Yeah we're going to Willimantic Record Store
Willimantic-- let's go and buy some records-- Record Store
It's got an international section
that will answer all your questions
about the old hits and new jams
till you got a stack in your hands.
Yeah we're going to Willimantic Record Store
There's always something new in the bins
and there's artwork up on the walls
Got live bands afternoons
when you can hang out with Joe and Dawn.
Yeah we're going to Willimantic Record Store
Willimantic-- let's go and buy some records-- Record Store

Me and my friend used to go on drives all the time, and a lot of the time i asked what he was playing, and a majority of the songs were from Yo La Tengo. And since i went and listened to And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out i was fan. Never thought i’d buy one of their records for myself. violetstain
